Ethnic village resort offering an immersive experience of traditional Rajasthani culture, cuisine, entertainment, and rural lifestyle.
Chokhi Dhani is a popular ethnic village resort located on the outskirts of Jaipur, about 20 km from the city center. Established in 1989, it was conceived as a way to preserve and showcase the rich culture, heritage, and rural lifestyle of Rajasthan.
The village is designed to recreate a traditional Rajasthani village setting, complete with mud houses, traditional decor, and artisans practicing various crafts. Visitors can experience various aspects of Rajasthani culture, including folk dances like Ghoomar and Kalbeliya, puppet shows, folk music, camel and elephant rides, and traditional games.
One of the main highlights of Chokhi Dhani is its authentic Rajasthani cuisine. The village offers a traditional Rajasthani thali (platter) served in the customary style, where guests sit on floor mats and eat from metal plates. The meal includes a variety of dishes that showcase the rich culinary heritage of the region.
Chokhi Dhani also features handicraft shops where visitors can purchase traditional Rajasthani artifacts, textiles, and souvenirs. The village has expanded over the years to include luxury cottages for overnight stays, allowing guests to extend their cultural experience.
